Anchorage

My goal was to connect the interior of the apartment with the incredible historic structure so prevalent in the central atrium of the wharf.

I pared it back to its original state, redesigned the footprint and aimed to recreate the essence of a working wharf seamlessly integrated with modern living.

A calming palette of warm greys, raw steel, recycled European barn oak floors, natural stones and handmade tiles were selected. Large industrial warehouse doors + expansive steel shelving units were installed to define the spaces.

These finishes are offset with Belgian linens, large scale abalone shell pendants, vintage industrial light fittings + decorative elements sourced from around the globe.

The use of reflective surfaces enhance the sense of light and connect the interiors with the stunning backdrop of the harbour.

This has created a unique and inviting home within a dramatic, historic industrial space.
